Internship Opportunity at Northern Ireland Veterinary Specialists (NiVS)

This 12-month Fixed Term Contract represents a unique and exciting opportunity to undertake a bespoke internship and further your career in Northern Ireland's first, multi-disciplinary specialist referral hospital.

During this time, you will predominately work on the referral service under the mentorship of two ECVS/RCVS specialist surgeons offering orthopaedic, soft tissue, neurosurgery referrals and two cardiologists offering medical and interventional cardiology services. This will be a structured training programme with the opportunity to participate in clinical rounds, journal clubs and clinical research.

As part of your role you will contribute to our MiNightVet service, providing out-of-hours emergency treatment to first opinion clients and exceptional care for hospitalised patients, with the support of a dedicated night nurse. This offers the unique opportunity to have clinical autonomy as part of an internship and will allow you to put into practice your decision-making, communication and technical skills all in a supportive environment.

There will be allocated off clinic time for participation in clinical research, publication, structured study and to help foster a good work-life balance.

The ideal candidate will be a MRCVS with at least one-year of clinical experience, although exceptional new graduates will be considered. You should be a highly-motivated, professional and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude and be committed to practising to the highest standards of veterinary medicine.
