Top Energy has operations throughout the Far North. The Company is privately owned by a power consumer trust and employs staff in Geothermal Generation and Distribution Lines operations. It is an exciting time to join us. We are rapidly evolving from being a traditional distribution company to becoming a technology enabled distributed energy company that allows multi-directional energy transfers between generators and users.

We are seeking a Vegetation Controller/Advisor, who will assist with carrying out vegetation clearance work and advisory duties, both around power lines during regular scheduled maintenance, fault response operations, or external customer requests.

This position will report to the Vegetation Control Team Leader and will be based at our Puketona site.

Key areas of focus will be:

• Assist with tree work to achieve line clearance, identifying any risks involved, and ensuring expected relevant standards are met
• Identify the owners of trees posing risk and inform them of the regulations
• Liaise with owners of private service mains where trees pose a threat to electrical safety so as to eliminate the issue Follow safe working procedures actively promoting Health and Safety within all areas of Top Energy's operation
• Providing inspection and quotation services to property owners for tree work, when required
• Ensuring correct operation of vegetation plant and equipment is upheld, as well as servicing machinery and safety equipment
• Consistently meets, and at every possible opportunity, exceeds customer expectations
• In the event of storm damage or other civil emergency, to provide reconnaissance and condition reporting of the Networks field assets

To succeed in this role, you will have strong arborist or forestry experience. An extensive understanding of relevant Codes of Practice is required, along with advanced knowledge of the Hazard from Trees Regulations 2003. The successful candidate must hold a full, clean Drivers Licence, including an HT licence. They will also hold a current Close Working Zone certificate and have a head for heights and process good computer skills.

There is an expectation with this role to make yourself available for work outside of normal working hours on occasion for overtime or to assist with the daily operations of Top Energy's Network.
