The position of Clinical Trials Nurse in Vascular Surgery is an exciting new addition to a well-established clinical trials group. The vascular surgical department at Royal North Shore Hospital is one of the strongest in the country. The department is involved in many exciting and cutting-edge clinical trials. These include everything from complex registries, to First-in -Man device trials as well as physician initiated independent research projects. You will be able to work with the trials group and surgical staff in an enjoyable, cohesive, inclusive and well supported group environment.
Option for part time work and job share arrangements will also be considered for this position.

What you'll be doing
The Vascular Surgery Research Nurse will work as a member of the research team within the Department of Vascular Surgery and participate in the coordination of clinical trials and Investigator led research carried out at Royal North Shore Hospital.
As a member of the Vascular Surgery research team, the Research Nurse will have responsibility for the delivery of direct and indirect care (within professional scope) and associated data collection for concurrent research studies undertaken in the Vascular Surgery Department.
The Research Nurse is responsible for managing clinical trial resources to optimise project outcomes and for ensuring research is conducted In accordance with the protocol, policy, legislation, ethical requirements and guidelines for Good Clinical Practice.

Current registration as a registered nurse (division 1) AHPRA .
Demonstrated experience with performing clinical research tasks related to the conduct of clinical trials or clinical research.
Experience with research ethics and governance processes and applications.
Conceptual and innovative problem solving skills for managing conflicting priorities, critical thinking and the ability to provide support for the development and implementation of research in a health care setting.
Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills which demonstrate capacity to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated computer skills in a research environment including Microsoft office, eCRFs .
Holds or willingness to hold current Good Clinical Practice accreditation.
