Responsibilities
The DMM is responsible for ensuring the project portfolio is proactively managed and executed effectively. The DMM will achieve this through Practice Management (encompassing business management practices such as planning, forecasting, governance and cost management), Delivery Management (focused on continuous improvement across delivery fundamentals, including portfolio optimization) and by leading a team of Consulting Project Management professionals, providing them with coaching, role readiness, career development and enrichment.
Relationship Development: Manages stakeholders, resolves escalated issues and understands customer strategies to oversee deliveries to expected customer outcomes and compliance standards. Champion customer feedback plans and serves on customer executive steering committees.
Presales and Contracting: Drives insights into pursuits, reviews deal structures ensuring expectations can be met. Reviews and approves contracts and changes.
Delivery Management: Drives the delivery lifecycle and resourcing strategies, overseeing the Consulting Project Managers execution of delivery against delivery excellence expectations, acting as a primary escalation point.
Portfolio Management: Acts as centralized management for project portfolios, reviews portfolio health, establishes operational processes and standards. Ensures methodologies, processes and quality standards are consistently implemented.
Monitoring and Controlling: Overall accountability for the quality of technical delivery and acts as primary escalation point to the Domain. Leads financial and quality rhythms of business across the portfolio, including delivery reviews and remediation plans with Consulting Project Managers.
Business Growth: Owns the financial health of the portfolio and identifies opportunities to accelerate delivery, prevent delays and maximize customer and business outcomes. Reviews new deals to quantify deliverability to customer outcomes.
Managerial and Leadership: Adheres to the Model, Coach, Care framework to attract, develop, and retain talent, delivers results through teamwork as One Microsoft, role models Microsoft values and commits to performance management.
Qualifications
Minimum Education/Work Experience:
6+ years of experience in consulting/professional services delivery, project management, or practice management OR Equivalent experience
Preferred Education, Work Experience and Certification:
A degree in related field AND 6+ years of experience leading portfolio management, complex programs, or revenue-driven (e.g., $10 million +) programs OR 8+ years of experience leading portfolio management, complex programs, or revenue-driven (e.g., $10 million +) programs OR Equivalent experience
DOD Army experience
2+ years of consulting, professional services, or related financial management experience (e.g., cost management, revenue forecasting)
3+ years of people management experience
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Agile certification or Scrum Master certification

Portfolio Management: Ability to: Oversees a broad portfolio of deliveries supported by Consulting Project Managers, monitoring portfolio health metrics and intervening to course correct. Skilled in collaborating cross functionally, accurately assessing business implications, deriving recommendations and proactive solutions and briefing senior leaders.
Monitoring and Controlling: Ability to: Effectively review budgets, risks, issues, change control and performance against KPIs. Represent technical delivery as an Executive Steerco Member. Skilled in: Issue remediation, facilitating across organizations to establish consensus and direction on the delivery.
Business Growth: Ability to input into pursuits, recognize incremental business, identify and drive delivery optimization and support key rhythms of business. Skilled in: Coaching to optimize delivery performance, portfolio financial management, evaluating delivery estimates and optimizing resourcing.
Managerial and Leadership: Ability to: Model, Coach, Care. Identify growth opportunities, build development plans with direct reports, conduct development discussions, and ensure fair and equal treatment of employees. Demonstrate through actions the One Microsoft culture, Microsoft values and adherence to compliance policies. Establish and communicate performance expectations, addressing gaps as needed. Skilled in: Leading with empathy and compassion, with direct people management experience.
This position may require up to 75% travel to customer locations within the US.

Top Secret Clearance:
The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance.     Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.
Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.
Cloud Screening:
Candidates must be able to successfully complete and pass a Microsoft Cloud background screening. Required Cloud Screenings will be administered on a recurring bi-annual basis.
