An immediate employment opportunity has become available for a Trust Accountant to direct journal entries, month-end close, cash flow, financial statement preparation, audit, clerical staff, full cycle A/P, payroll, and bank reconciliations. Seeking a permanent Trust to join their Insurance - Health team, our client in the Markham, Ontario area, is working with Robert Half to find a qualified candidate to join their Insurance - Health team. How you will make an impact

- Govern monthly accounting close

- Develop monthly reconciliations, prepare balance sheet accounts, income statements

- Assist with preparing financial statements and all supporting documents

- Prepare working papers

- Organize cash account journal entries including loans, taxes, bank fees

- Assist with year end and annual audits

- Other special projects as requested

Requirements

- 3+ years of related experience- Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

- Dynamic accounting experience

- Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills

- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

- Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

- Demonstrated ability to implement solutions, strong analytical and communication skills as well

- Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities

- Experience with Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation

- Month-end Journal Entries experience preferred

- General familiarity with Trust Accounts

- Adeptness in financial statement preparation

- Strong familiarity with journal entries

- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, vLookups and formulas

- Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred
