Robert Half currently has an opening for a Trust Fund Accountant. Located in Markham, Ontario, the Trust fund accountant will be a long-term contract position. In this dynamic department, there is an opportunity for career growth and quick advancement. The Trust Fund Accountant is responsible for handling a small book of business of trust fund clients.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare journals and maintain up-to-date GL transactions; • Reconcile all balance sheet and income statement accounts; • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements • Prepare government remittances; • Monitor cash flow and prepare bank transfer for surplus funds; • Prepare cash flow, investment and other reports as required by clients; • Prepare working papers and assist during annual audits; • Evaluate and handle client related inquiries; • Handle day-to-day accounting duties for the clients.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: • 3 or more years of working in an office environment with a focus on trust fund accounting; • College or University Diploma in business administration, with a focus on accounting; • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft office applications with intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Excel; • Co-operative team player with strong math skills.
