The opportunity

Right now, we have a limited duration 12 months opportunity for a Truck Driver (HC), Semi-Trailer to join us in the Regional Maintenance team based in Yass NSW.  We are seeking those that reside within a 50km radius from the Yass, Gundagai or Holbrook depots as you will be on call when required.

You’ll be required to carry out certain duties including but not limited to:

• The Truck Driver (Semi Trailer) is required to competently operate Heavy Combination vehicles and to hold a HC Class Drivers Licence
• Towing any trailers that their vehicle is rated to tow
• Operate a HIAB or similar truck mounted crane
• General road working labour duties when needed
• In addition to the position’s primary duties the Truck Driver (HC Gang) also performs any of the duties of a Road Worker Grade 3, as and when required.
• Required to camp at various locations across the District to deliver projects

About you

We are looking for an experienced Truck Driver who has the capability to work under limited supervision and has experience in maintaining a safe and injury free work place for all employees while operating in a high speed, high traffic volume environment.

You have sound experience operating HIAB or similar truck mounted cranes and experience undertaking physical labouring duties. You’ll also hold:

• White Card
• HC Driver Licence
• Traffic control certifications (or willingness to obtain prior to starting)
• Experience and understanding of local road networks across the district

You take pride in your ability to effectively communicate with other workers and members of public and are dedicated to maintaining a safe work environment.

You’re prepared to work outside regular working hours (day and night works when required), attend after hour call-outs, and prepared to travel extensively throughout the state and work at locations away from the base station including camping away from home when needed.
 
Whilst not required, experience in operating plant (loader, bobcat, pad foot smooth drum) is advantageous but not essential.

Wage and Benefits
The wage for this position is Truck Driver HC Semi Trailer is ($1,342.60) per week plus superannuation.
