Evolving Transport
Transport for NSW is delivering an unprecedented $72.2b investment into a truly game changing Future Transport strategy. We are also evolving, bringing together new and existing transport modes, cutting edge technologies, and getting smarter at how we do it. We are changing to deliver more connected journeys, greater satisfaction, and safer transport for our customers, both now and for the future.
The Division
The Greater Sydney Division is redefining integrated transport choices to improve the lives of customers and communities, making Greater Sydney a better place to live, work and play. We have the single biggest place making opportunity at Transport in the coming years, reshaping Greater Sydney into a metropolis of three cities – Eastern Harbour City, Central River City and Western Parklands City - whilst also overseeing the Greater Sydney region as a whole.
The Opportunity
Can you see yourself working in a role where no two days are the same?
What about helping to monitor the NSW State road network and identifying ways to help to ensure our customers get to their destinations as safely and quickly as possible? One day you could be helping to manage incidents on one of our key roads and directing field resources to assist in resolving them and the next day you could be helping to make sure that our clearways are flowing freely by coordinating any required towing to minimise delays for our customers. The day after that you could directing maintenance crews to ensure repairs to the road network occur in a timely and prioritised way.
Imagine the satisfaction of knowing that each day you played a key role in helping get people home safely.
If you like working in a dynamic environment and would relish getting involved in the action, then we have a rewarding opportunity for a highly motivated professional to join the Customer Journey Management team at Transport for NSW as a Transport Operations Controller.
The Detail:
Based at our Transport Management Centre in Eveleigh – just a short walk from Redfern Station - you will work with operations staff across different modes of transport as well as emergency service agencies and other key stakeholders to optimise traffic flows and network efficiency to enable seamless, safe, and reliable journeys for our customers.
In this critical role you will also

• Help manage both planned and unplanned incidents to minimise their effect on the road network and on our customers
• Co-ordinate the timely and safe operation of traffic control systems by monitoring traffic flow
• Dispatch, communicate with and receive information from field resources for both planned and unplanned events to support smooth journeys by our customers
