Training Design Service Supervisor (Media)

Location(s):  The main place of work will be HMS Collingwood. The role requires a high degree of flexibility, with a requirement for some travel between sites within the UK.

Summary of Role:

The post is responsible to the Senior Media Supervisor for the management, governance and delivery output for all media content and output within the HMS COLLINGWOOD Media Department.

Main Duties:

  • Support the management and governance of all media outputs to ensure alignment and compliance with contracted Statement of Requirement (SOR).
  • Manage and maintain the day-to-day delivery output for all multimedia and graphic design content in both hard and softcopy output.
  • Interface with all stakeholders in the Training Design Service (TDS) for the development of modernising training content.
  • Attend media design reviews, management meetings and modernisation reviews. Offering guidance and advice towards best practice and methods of media options.
  • Manage the daily intake of work by tasking to individuals and teams that meets delivery timescales, quality, and resource.
  • Ensure your team maintains high standards for behaviours.
  • Ensure all media staff follow safe work practices and guidance for Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) polices and risk assessments.
  • Supervise the local administration and maintenance of media course content/documentation onto the selected Defence Learning Environment (DLE, Moodle).
  • Project manage the development of all media, ensuring the Quality Management System (QMS) is adhered to.
  • Engage with TDS, and other key stakeholders to ensure Subject Matter Experts (SME) support the media knowledge required for media development.
  • Play an active part in the Media Management team collaboratively working with other Media site leads
  • Conduct regular team briefs, media workshops and presentations to stakeholders.

Other Duties:

  • Carry out any other appropriate task that may be required from time to time
  • Ensure employees understand they are responsible for their own Health and Safety and that of work colleagues in their care or visiting the department.
  • Ensure the promotion of Equality and Diversity throughout your area/department
  • Ensure compliance with MoD regulations and security procedures

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

  • Experience of line managing a team against delivery timelines, with the capability to apply a range of logical and analytical skills to interpret complex training data
  • Consolidated and in-depth experience of software applications for multimedia and graphic design outputs
  • Experience and knowledge of Media software development tools and remote learning
  • Professional experience in management/education and/or equivalent demonstrable experience of managing a team
  • Experience of Training Quality processes in a media environment
  • Understanding of Quality Assurance procedures.
  • Experience of mentoring and carrying out performance development reviews.
