Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company and currently employs over 1,500 people in the UK. BDUK is responsible for delivering several contracts to our UK defence customers including many training services.
This is an exciting time to join a growing team of training experts. We are seeking an experienced Training professional who can lead and manage our aircrew and maintenance instructor team for the delivery of simulator and maintenance training at Wattisham airfield in support of the UK Apache force.
Reporting to the Head of Training BDUK, The Training Delivery Manager will be based at the Apache Training Centre Wattisham Airfield. The role will oversee all training delivery aspects of the synthetic training service for aircrew and maintenance training for aircraft engineers. This is a dynamic role with key customer interfaces to support and assure our training product but to also lead and manage a professional team of aircrew and maintainer instructors. Some travel will be required to support the Training Service Capability management meetings across other BDUK sites occasionally.
Responsibilities:
Manages, leads and develops the Apache team delivering the Training Service and performing business support activities at Wattisham
Executes the Training Service in accordance with the delivery schedule, and relevant process and policy
Leads the team in the prevention and resolution of complex problems
Implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
Make sure adequate resources are in place to deliver the contracted commitments
Develops and maintains strong relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Delivers the service aginst Key Performance Indicators ensuring customer satisfaction levels are met
Manages the performance of the training service against the contracted performance factors
Leads Continuous Improvement of the Training Service best practices
Supports wider bid preparation and subsequent negotiations
What We're Looking for:
An experienced training professional well versed in the delivery and assurance of aviation / maintenance training.
A proven leader with demonstrable skills in the management and development of high performing teams
A thought leader and innovator able to develop and enhance the performance of the training service
Relevant Business degree is preferred or demonstrable experience in a similar management role within a military or commercial aviation environment
Experience in a training delivery role
Sound knowledge of the UK MoD’s acquisition processes policies, procedures and practices
Detailed knowledge of the Apache aircraft is desirable but not essential
Other:
Willingness and eligibility to undergo SC clearance
This is a on-site based role in Wattisham
