WDHB has made a commitment to continue to train Anaesthetic Technicians on this existing pathway while we can. If you are a Registered Nurse or Paramedic and interested in branching out into the field of Anaesthetics, now is your chance to apply.
This is an 18 month course dependant on your relevant history, which will commence in April (paramedicine) and May (RNs)!
Anaesthetic technicians assist and prepare operating theatres and clinics for anaesthetic procedures. Your clinical learning will be on-the-job and the theoretical component is studied through distance learning with Auckland University of Technology.
Based at North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals and the Elective Surgical Centre our theatre teams are amongst the biggest and busiest in the country. This is a great opportunity to work in a clinical environment right from the beginning and to learn from the ground up!
If you enjoy working with people, are adaptable and have a genuine desire to develop a career in Anaesthetics then apply today!
