Haka Educational Tours is part of the award-winning Haka Tourism Group. We are a fast-growing, innovative, and progressive tourism company with big, exciting plans for the future! Our mission is to broaden young minds through real-life travel experiences. We achieve this mission by delivering high-impact education and sports tours for schools, universities, and sports teams globally. 

Haka head office is based in Newmarket, Auckland but this role could be based on a remote basis preferably Auckland, or Northland, other locations may be considered.  

THE ROLE

We have an exciting new role for an A-player in our small high-performing team. The Tour Experience Coordinator will help us continue to provide world-class experiences to our groups by ensuring we deliver exceptional tour safety and customer service. This role will also support the sales team to create a seamless customer journey.

Whilst no two days may look the same, here’s a snapshot of what your day could look like:

  • Manage travel reservations such as flights, accommodation, transport, activities, and meals
  • Manage the logistics and operations of tours such as planning, scheduling, producing detailed and accurate travel itineraries
  • Point of contact for global supplier network ensuring world-class product delivery through ongoing relationship building
  • Overseeing supplier contracts to include rates management & invoicing
  • Health & Safety management through audits and process delivery
  • Championing our mission and identifying, nurturing, and auditing mission-aligned suppliers
  • Collaborating with the team on impact initiatives such as carbon management, regenerative tourism,  animal welfare, and a heap more!
  • Organising our road crew team to make sure they have everything they need
  • Supporting our sales team with itinerary and quote development, marketing collateral, and administration tasks.

Desired skills and experience include:

  • Exceptional organisational skills, including time and workload management

  • Ability to easily adapt communication styles, we work with global suppliers across a range of markets
  • Proven flexibility and the ability to juggle a high workload in a fast-paced environment
  • A growth mindset-orientated approach to challenges
  • Comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy and accountability
  • Experience with sustainable business initiatives such as carbon management and service-led impact activities are desirable
  • Experience across the education and sports tourism industry is desirable
  • Geographical knowledge and travel experience are desirable
  • You value personal and professional development and are committed to a learning journey across areas of growth
  • Experience using Salesforce CRM & Wordpress desirable
  • Strong IT system skills are essential – especially Google-Suite.
