About the job
As a Registered Nurse working in Theatre you will be scrubbing or circulating and ultimately providing safe, efficient and quality patient centred care. Whilst orthopaedic and plastic surgery is common, you will also work across a variety of other surgical specialties including general, ophthalmology, gynae, urology, ENT and oral - with different surgeons and teams. On offer is 0.8 FTE (or less) with the ability to flex up and down, family friendly shifts (morning, afternoon and day lists), no nights, no on call and Monday to Friday. Saturday work is exceptionally rare and if required confirmed by arrangement.
There are Consultants only in this hospital. No Registrars or House Surgeons means nurses have the opportunity to deal directly with the Surgeon and develop surgical assistance skills.
Skills and attributes required
Obviously, you will be a Registered Nurse with a current APC. You will have a strong customer focus, be committed to improvement initiatives and your own professional development. Theatre experience is essential. We prefer 2+ years. Ideally you will be a generalist able to work across multiple specialties. In addition you'll be:
