This is a key nursing leadership role, with responsibility for managing the daily clinical aspects of our operating theatre suite. This position will suit candidates with a desire to commence or extend their leadership journey whilst maintaining core clinical expertise.
About You:
You will need to demonstrate recent scrub/scout experience along with strong organisational and communication skills. Our ideal candidate will possess highly developed clinical competencies and analytical skills, together with a desire to lead and support others to deliver superior patient care and services.
A head for business and finance will be highly valued as the role will also be responsible for ensuring that service delivery is cost effective.
In addition, candidates will need to demonstrate:
Exceptional, relevant clinical knowledge and expertise – minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Perioperative Suite (including scrub/scout)
Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
The ability to motivate and lead others
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with both Medical Officers and Nurses
Current registration with AHPRA
A commitment to delivering best practice person-centred care
An interest in mentoring and educating our up and coming Theatre Nurses.
Relevant Postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded.

Key responsibilities include:
Safe and effective allocation of Nursing staff within the Perioperative team to ensure the optimum skill mix for lists
Displaying a culture of clinical excellence that is based on person-centred care
Working collaboratively with clinical, medical, administrative and allied health professionals both internally and externally to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe perioperative services
Regular clinical shifts to maintain scrub/scout skills
Encouraging and enabling professional development of staff
Developing and maintaining care standards in line with the Australian College of Operating Room Nurses (ACORN) and national standards
Deputising for the Clinical Manager as required
