Description

We’re looking for a Technician and Lighting Designer to support the creation and delivery of a UK

tour of a new play ‘The Killer Question’.

The Technician is required to be able to operate technical equipment to a high standard and be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient technical presentation of all performances; working collaboratively with the core creative team and various theatre venues.

​

The role will involve:

• Designing and plotting the lighting for the show

• Working closely with the stage manager to facilitate all ‘get ins’ and ‘get outs’.

• Liaising with venues on technical and rigging requirements

• Operating the show

• Good health and safety knowledge including latest CV-19 requirements.

• Assist with load in and out of all touring equipment.

• other duties as necessary

We’re looking for someone with:

• A proven track record of lighting design and operating theatrical productions.

• Resilient disposition and ability to remain calm under pressure

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with performers, crew, venue teams and others

• Good working knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation or a willingness to learn

• Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills

• Ability to prioritise workload effectively

• Ability to work independently and to deadline

• Excellent team working skills

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• A proactive and flexible approach
