Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Experience creating content for a technical audience (such as developer documentation, computer science course materials, and/or IT admin playbooks)
Experience with technologies (such as software or hardware systems) by investigation, experimentation (e.g. reading or running code), and/or interactions with stakeholders
Preferred qualifications:
Ability to write clearly/concisely on a difficult topic
Ability to reach out to stakeholders to determine the need for a given project
Ability to structure a project into smaller tasks
Ability to learn Google’s engineering processes, including development processes, tools, and key issues such as testing, privacy, security, accessibility, responsible AI, etc.
Ability to learn current/important topics to Google, such as Machine Learning, Responsible AI, Skill Methodology, Efficiency, etc.
Ability to identify the appropriate users for a project and explain how those users benefit from it, knowing how to measure users' success at using it

The content is often in the form of documentation, but may also be UI text, sample code, videos, or other educational material. Regardless of the content medium, technical writers are distinguished by their abilities to explain complex topics in a way that’s useful to their audience.

Responsibilities
Plan, research, create, and maintain training content on leading-edge technology, including both writing text and building labs.
Edit, clarify, and proofread course material written by others and update existing coding exercises.
Work closely with a team leader to evaluate proposals for courses.
Identify and understand the audience user journeys to address their actual needs.
Propose methods for measuring the success of training programs and share training techniques with fellow technical writers to constantly improve the effectiveness of the team.
