      Technical Support Officer

      Job Description:

      We are looking for an enthusiastic Application Support Officer to join our Business Applications Team responsible for supporting multiple Revenues and Benefits applications within our secure environments. Supported applications include One Revenues and Benefits, Northgate, Civica, EG Work Manager, Integra, Information@Work.

      The successful candidate will have solid experience of working in a revenues environment and sound understanding of the law relating to Council Tax, Housing Benefits and/or Non-Domestic Rates. You will have demonstrable technical knowledge of at least one of these applications and experience of providing technical support for Non-Domestic Rates, Housing Benefits and/or Council Tax queries. You will have good numeracy skills and literacy skills, be able to prioritise workloads and have excellent communication skills.

      The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of a technical application support role and be willing to adapt to CST methodologies. Training will be provided to enable the successful candidate to develop.

      The responsibilities of the role include to:

      • Assist in the design, deployment, support, reconciliation and maintenance of the multiple applications
      • Ensuring that documents and reports are produced at the correct time
      • Active participant in change management
      • Ensuring that bills and letters are accurately produced and dispatched
      • Respond to calls logged on helpdesk within SLA
      • Liaise with suppliers, managers, clients and third-party software providers
      • Undertake project work as required
      • Support colleagues as required
      • Conform at all times to all established processes, best practices and performance standards.

      Essential Experience/Skills

      • Multi-tasking and prioritization
      • Able to work with a high level of accuracy and thoroughness
      • Excellent customer care & communication skills
      • Math’s and English GCSE (or equivalent) grades C or above
      • Competent using MS Outlook, Word & Excel
      • Previous experience providing technical support for One Revenues and Benefits and/or Northgate

      Desirable Experience/Skills

      • Experience of working in a team within a customer focused environment
      • Understanding of, or willingness to learn Microsoft SQL Server
      • Knowledge of Council Tax, Business Rates and/or Housing Benefits
      • Previous experience using One Revenues and Benefits, Northgate, Civica, Document Management systems and/or EG Work Manager and/or providing application support
