Job Description
We are looking for a Technical Pre-sales Architect to become part of the UK & Ireland Solution Engineering team and support the sales process in some of its more technical aspects and engagements. You will be able to take the lead in both technical and business-oriented conversations. You will craft and deliver solutions, presentations and demonstrations of Salesforce Commerce Cloud to some of the most exciting brands and retailers in the world. This is a hands-on technical role that would appeal to someone who understands abstract technical architecture and loves to solve problems, through design, configuration and code. You might currently be working for a software vendor, systems integrator or customer company.
Role Description:
- Run discovery sessions, analyse findings and produce business and technical solutions.
- Analyse and create solution architecture for sophisticated technical landscapes incorporating Salesforce, partners and customers’ existing systems.
- Create and deliver presentations of solutions to business and technical audiences.
- Present standard demonstrations of Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
- Configure, develop and present custom demonstrations based on Salesforce Commerce Cloud and its APIs and microservices.
- Explain the value and benefits of the proposed solutions to Salesforce’s prospects and partners.
- Keep up to date with Salesforce products and relevant industry and technology trends.
- Articulate effective feedback on common customer needs to Product Management, Marketing and Engineering.
- Provide industry, technology and product advice and best practice to clients.
- Cooperate with systems integrator and software vendor partners on joint solutions and opportunities.
- Assist account executives (sales) in the development of target account selling strategies, proposals and RFI / RFP responses.
Essential:
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Solid understanding of enterprise business software architecture and integration technologies.
- Competence and real-world experience in at least one programming language (e.g. Javascript, Java, C#…).
- At least 1 year of functional and technical experience with the Salesforce platform.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own time across multiple engagements and activities.
- An inquisitive, analytical and creative personality who loves technology, innovation and problem-solving.
- A persuasive and credible communicator who enjoys direct engagement with an audience.
- Ability to lead and work as part of ad hoc, multi-role teams.
- Availability to travel (up to 25% - almost entirely within the UK & Ireland).
- Extensive experience across enterprise-grade business software (e.g. digital commerce, CRM, order management, digital marketing, billing…).
Desirable:
- Direct experience working with microservices and MACH principles.
- Experience with digital commerce or other customer self-service applications.
- Experience with technologies adjacent to digital commerce such as digital marketing, payments, order and subscription management etc…
- Hands-on proficiency in Javascript, especially React.
- Proficiency/knowledge of Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud, its APIs and services.
- Experience with ESB, ETL or similar middleware.
