Are you an experienced Team Manger? Looking for your next permanent role working with children/young people? Able to work in Enfield, North London and start ASAP? Barnardo's has the role for you!

We provide 24/7 residential services to the UK's most vulnerable children/young people and believe a child's future should never be defined by their past. Every child has the right to a fulfilling life, to realize their potential and to have a positive future. Our children and young people are high risk, have highly challenging behaviour and very complex needs including Autism, EBD, ODD, self-harm, cognitive developmental issues stemming from serious childhood trauma/neglect/ abandonment/ abuse.

We are opening a new residential home with a Solo Placement for one young person with a staff ratio of 3:1. They are high risk with complex needs and challenging behaviour stemming partly from the trauma they have experienced in their young life. They need lots of love, encouragement, support and patience.

As a Residential Team Manager, you will:

  • Be able to engage our newly formed team  
  • Be able to provide excellent supervision to enable our team to grow and develop
  • Empower our young person and facilitate their active involvement in the decision making about their life and future
  • Advocate for them and ensure their voice is heard

Requirements for this position are:

  • Level 3/4 Children & Young People Workforce (Social Care) or Residential Child Care qualification (or willing to undertake this training within 2 years)
  • Understanding of the needs of children/young people with very complex behavioural issues in relevant educational, health and youth work settings
  • Experience of managing teams who work with children/young people in a residential care setting is essential 

An enhanced DBS check is required for this role (payable by Barnardo's)
