About our group and team
The Resourcing Group is responsible for delivering operational funding and staffing entitlements to nearly 2,500 schools. We administer annual payments of approximately $5.8 billion to schools and kura.
We provide high quality financial advice and support to schools and school boards. We ensure schools and early childhood centres receive correct resourcing entitlements through our monitoring programme. We provide resourcing operational policy advice and guidance and produce one-off solutions to resourcing issues. Our resourcing contact centre also provides direct telephone and email support to schools', early childhood centres and the general public.
MŠtēnei tūranga | About this role
The Team Leader, School Financial Advice is responsible for the management of a regionally based team of School Finance Advisors located in the in the Tai Tokerau, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty / Waiariki and Hawkes Bay / TairÄwhiti regions.
The Team Leader, School Financial Advice will have oversight of the monitoring process for school financial performance and legislative compliance. They will support and grow a high performing team of School Finance Advisors, encouraging the use of best practice financial and governance advice. The ability to travel between the regions is an important element of leading a geographically disbursed team.

To be successful in this role you will have had previous experience in providing technical financial advice and leading risk management and assessment processes.
You'll have an eye for detail and understand the importance of getting things right. You'll be able to work effectively under pressure with a wide range of stakeholders both across the Ministry and with schools and boards.
