This role provides provides day to day leadership, operational management and planning for the Nelson Hospital Acute Occupational Therapy Team to deliver a sustainable, high-quality service that contributes to the achievement of organisational goals.
The role also provides professional leadership for Occupational Therapy, across Nelson Marlborough Health (NMH) services, with a focus on workforce development, safe and high-quality care, outcomes focussed practice and integration that support strategic development and organisational priorities.
You will be a valued member of the Allied Health leadership team and will provide expert strategic leadership. This is position is located at the Nelson Hospital, with the requirement to travel across the district for Professional Leadership and as Allied Health service requires.
During Covid response duties and days of work may be variable.

As a registered occupational therapist, with a minimum of seven years clinical experience, you will be a member of your professional association, and will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. You will have experience of working with other professions in multidisciplinary / inter-professional settings, and you will be the type of person who leads by example and creates an environment that encourages a positive team culture, a high level of staff engagement and performance.
For the health and safety of staff and patients all NMH staff are required to be vaccinated in accordance with the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021.
