Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Team Administrator to join us on a 6-month secondment or fixed-term contract. The role will be responsible for the following:

  • Core coordination, and operational support to work programmes and key projects
  • Proactively providing administrative support to ensure the Localities workstreams can deliver their priorities effectively and efficiently
  • Engagement with key stakeholders both within the health and disability system and wider sectors, including iwi/Māori, and community stakeholders.

 Reforming New Zealand's Health System:

The Minister of Health has announced a significant reform to New Zealand's health system, underpinned by major changes to our system's structure and operating model. The changes will reduce fragmentation, strengthen leadership and accountability, and improve equity of access and outcomes for all New Zealanders.

The New Zealand health system is complex with a wide network of health professionals, managers and providers meeting the needs of whānau and communities. The two entities will have to develop a strong infrastructure around workforce development to prepare all those within that system (workforce, and partners in the community) to implement the system reforms. Implementation of those reforms will require a whole new set of skills for the workforce, including technical skills as well as ‘soft' behavioural skills.

  Te Tiriti o Waitangi

The programme of work is grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, and all roles will involve engagement with diverse stakeholders, and working with Māori to give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Ngā PÅ«kenga me ngā Wheako – Skills & Experience:

The Team Administrator will need to work in an agile and responsive manner, working across both interim Health New Zealand and the interim Māori Health Authority.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following skill sets:

  • High-level of proficiency in Microsoft office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and experience in using Microsoft Teams for meetings, file storage and work tracking
  • Communicate clearly and effectively
  • Experience in an administrative professional or project-based environment.
