Lead the recruitment initiative in this role, and maintain both a positive recruitment and onboarding experience for candidates and new hires! Key responsibilities
- Recruit for all levels of company positions such as machine operators, mechanics, warehouse staff, purchaser, IT, Human Resources, and Finance positions
- Diligently source top talent for the organization. Prescreen candidates, interview, and shortlist candidates for hiring managers prescreen
- Conduct candidate interviews and provide candidate feedback to hiring managers
- Maintain a positive, fair and equitable candidate recruitment process
- Stay up to date with employment legislation such as AODA, Employment standards legislation
- Consult with hiring managers to determine staffing needs and develop sourcing strategies
- Work with hiring managers to understand their staffing requirements and accurately draft appealing job descriptions and posts
- Proactively build a pool of qualified candidates for future open positions
- Connect and partner with recruitment agencies to attract top talent
- Administer all required candidate skill testing and complete both reference and background checks
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and compile onboarding packages
- Provide reception relief as required
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or related
- Minimum 2 years of recruitment experience
- Prior experience recruiting within manufacturing industry
- Excellent knowledge of best sourcing and talent attraction practices
- Familiar with office applications and software, as well as Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
- Exposure to conducting onboarding and new hire orientation
- Onboarding experience highly desired
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and to take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
