Job Description

About us

At Sydney Trains, our rail services keep Sydney moving by putting our customers at the centre of everything we do. We work with our local communities to deliver safe, timely and efficient rail services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our trains and network are evolving to meet the needs of our customers now and well into the future. We’re continuing to integrate technological innovations that help us deliver a smarter and more sustainable network.

The team

Major Works is part of our Engineering and Maintenance division which manages a $1.1 billion annual maintenance and improvement program to ensure the delivery of a safe, reliable passenger fleet and metropolitan rail network and to meet the expectations of our customers every day.

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Systems Integration Lead to manage the delivery of a state-of-the-art operational technology, championing its technical integration with existing business functions.

This role will see you working on the Measurement and Inspection Digital Twin (MIDT) project which is part of the Intelligent Maintenance Program. In this exciting transformation role, you will help to implement LiDAR technology and engineering solutions that will improve network availability, reliability, and track worker safety across our network by removing the need for staff to undertake manual measurement and inspection activities.

You will be driving transformational activities to implement the technology by ensuring compliance with technical requirements and integration with existing maintenance functions. To realise further opportunities, you will also be investigating and piloting advanced analytics solutions powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve engineering analysis functions.

Key accountabilities

Ensure tailored system integration and configuration management plans are established with planned integration of subsystems

Ensure the system integration entry criteria is met prior to entering system integration phase

The types of technologies you will be working with (but not limited to) include;

LiDAR Point and Panoramic Imagery Data Capture via a Mechanised Inspection Train.

Geospatial Post-Processing and Data Visualisation Solutions

SAP Enterprise Asset Management Systems

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have similar experience within projects that required you to undertake an assurance function to drive consistent and effective performance management through influencing key stakeholders and contractors alike.

You will be a champion at supporting transformational change and dealing with the potential resistance to change from both internal and external stakeholders.

You will ideally have experience managing technology or complex multidisciplinary projects. Safety is number 1 in all we do at Sydney Trains and it is vital that the successful applicant practices and drives a safety first culture.
