About the Team

The Institutional Clients Group (ICG) Engineering and Architecture Practice (EAP) focuses on ensuring architectural cohesion and delivering common, cross-functional capabilities across ICG Technology. This role will be in the Governance & Adoption (GA) function. The GA is a proactive function within the EAP whose mission is to set focus on realising value by driving delivery of the strategy and sustainable adoption. The function defines and implements a high standard project management framework, product management expertise, adoption methodology and change management to enable transformation, delivery of technical capabilities and tangible results.

This role will work to help transform the working environment of the 18,000 people who make up the ICG development community and help them dramatically change their approach to developing software across the many different technologies we support. This is also a challenging remit, but with the scale and variety comes a unique opportunity.

About the Role

The Product Manager is responsible for setting strategy as well as providing direction, leadership and clarity during the product lifecycle. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the development of product plans, timelines and forecast. The overall objective of this role is to coordinate the successful delivery of the products in partnership with the development and program management teams. This is a senior role to also train, guide and coach.

Key Responsibilities

• Train and coach other product managers and product owners
• Define and manage strategic product roadmap, development, launch, and marketing to achieve maximum user experience
• Drive the execution of all product lifecycle from requirements gathering, planning, positioning, roadmap development, and product launch
• Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, product and features objectives as well as value proposition
• Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for development teams
• Collaborate closely with different stakeholders throughout the development, test, and release of products coordinating resources to ensure success
• Build product delivery plan for development team as well as help the different teams prioritize, negotiate, and remove obstacles and dependencies to achieve results
• Gather requirements and incorporate valuable feedback in the product development
• Manage budget
• Appropriately assess risk, dependencies and requirements when decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the product quality and successful delivery
• Work with infrastructure team to forecast tooling and capacity needed in order to deliver the product as per planned
• Take ownership of various parts of a project / initiative with tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectation / requirements to make progress
• Efficiently build strong working relationship with project management, infrastructure, technology teams and partners
• Strong Stakeholders management at all levels

Experience

• Hands-on experience in complex product management in a large organisation
• Experience working as a product developer
• Proven experience overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle
• Experience in product management within a complex financial services environment
• Solid knowledge of Confluence and JIRA
• Understand the importance of communication clear detailed product roadmap
• Experience managing a product with regulatory commitment a major plus
