Metallurgical coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate two open cut and three underground metallurgical coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, every year producing millions of tonnes of the highest quality hard coking coal for this purpose.
Job Description
Reporting to the Registered Mine Surveyor, you will work as part of the survey team and assist in delivering best practice surveying services to Moranbah North Mine.
The role will predominately be undertaking Surface Surveying activities with a development plan in place to gain underground experience.
You will exhibit a passion for safety, embrace a challenge, have good problem skills and ability to work autonomously.
The successful candidate will utilize their Surveying expertise to provide surface and underground survey services such as drafting, updating mine plans and provide reporting that is transparent, verified, and timely.
Your well-developed communication and influencing skills will be key to your success in this role through maintaining key relationships with multiple stakeholders.
Qualifications
Tertiary or Diploma qualification in Surveying
Previous exposure to Leica instrumentation, Trimble GPS, Autocad, and Compnet is desirable but not mandatory.
Minimum 2 years Surveying experience
