Job Description

We currently have a phenomenal opportunity to join our UK&I fire and security survey team. As surveyor your role will be to carry out site surveys and prepare quotations to match the specification requirements of our key account clients on a national basis. You’ll also assist in the audit process of the JCI customer base and complete survey requests for other parts of the business as and when required.

How you will do it

As a Surveyor you will carry out surveys which are a mixture of non-booked and pre booked appointments and complete in line with customer requirements; including drawings and layout of fire and intruder protection systems. You will be required to provide the design team with information on existing systems and what works are required on site by site basis in order to design cost effective and efficient solutions that meet the customer specification and expectation.

You will make recommendations for extra works identified through surveys and audits, these may include other product offerings or services supplied by Johnson Controls. You will compile job packs ensuring full compliance with quality procedures and fire and security standards, as well as implement all Health and Safety requirements of both the Customer and that of JCI.

What we look for

We specialise in security systems including access control, CCTV, intruder alarms and EAS so it’s vital our surveyors have multi-disciplined security knowledge or experience, and we’d ideally love you to have experience of systems configuration. Any experience of fire alarms and care communications would be a bonus.

In addition, we'd love you to have the following skills/attributes

  • CAD design experience, Visio/CAD/Auto sketch.
  • Understanding of fire and/or security technical standards.
  • Knowledge of electrical industry, including electrical wiring standards/requirements, preferably with an electrical background.
  • Experience with configure – price – quote tools and applications.
  • Experience with procurement and construction processes and systems.
  • Specialist skills for Home Office, Police Custody and Prison specifications are advantageous
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with customers.
  • IT experience, MS Office, iPads and CRM systems.
  • Excellent time management.

You’ll need to be flexible and willing to travel nationally and staying away from home when required. We’ll provide company car or car allowance so full UK driving licence is essential.

If you are successful we can offer you a company culture that promotes work life balance, a commitment to continued learning and development, access to mental health support, a fantastic benefits package which includes a competitive salary, pension, life assurance, employee assistance program, employee referral scheme, discount on Johnson Controls security products including ADT Smart Home plus voluntary schemes for childcare vouchers and cycle to work.
