Surveyor / Senior Surveyor – Operational Real Estate Scotland
Location(s)
Office location can be either Glasgow or Edinburgh however a flexible approach to travel will be required.
Role Background
CBRE’s Operational Real Estate Team is a market leading investment, advisory and valuation business working across all operational sectors, including; healthcare, senior housing, hotels, pubs and leisure and self-storage.
We understand the fundamental drivers of real estate performance, from the asset level through to the impact of capital structuring on investor returns.
In response to a growing pipeline and expansion of our business, we are seeking a Surveyor / Senior Surveyor to help drive our growth of the OPRE Valuation & Advisory business in Scotland. The role will focus on the Scotland region but there will be opportunity to be involved in larger UK wide mandates.
This role will be suitable for someone that wants to be part of a growing business line, eager to learn and further develop their career across OPRE and shape the future of our business. The role will be focused on undertaking all aspects of valuation within operational real estate sectors in Scotland.
Prior experience within operational sectors is not required and valuation experience is preferred but not essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the team to preparing trading, investment, and development valuations
- Writing valuation reports
- Analysis of client data to prepare valuations
- Assisting with business development by contributing to developing client relationships, attending industry events and wider team events
- Provide informed market facing advice on a variety of operational real estate sectors
- Inspections of a varied range of assets across Scotland
- Regular engagement with London and regional colleagues will be required
Person Specification / Requirements
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly form professional relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels of seniority
- Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently ensuring deadlines are met
- Good attention to detail
- Pro-active attitude and a team player
- Advanced IT skills, in particular MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to logically analyse data
- Prior valuation experience preferred but not necessarily in the operational real estate sectors as full training will be provided. Argus Enterprise/Developer and prior experience of financial modelling would be beneficial.
- Ideally MRICS qualified or close to becoming qualified, RICS Registered Valuer preferable
- Understands the importance of using discretion
- Full UK driving license required
