We are looking for an experienced professional to take a lead role in delivering a person-centred support service, working within the bespoke Addiction Recovery programme.
The role of the Support Worker with The Salvation Army is critical to providing an enhanced level of service for our vulnerable clients. The Support Worker will be responsible for assisting a caseload of clients, developing support plans and ensuring that needs are met. The role also involves ensuring day to day operations are successfully undertaken within a demanding and sometimes unpredictable environment. The successful candidate will be required to ensure all records are completed in a timely manner and that clients receive support to assist them to build a sustainable recovery. A specialism will be developed for the support worker, such as medication oversight or client housing move on responsibility.
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
•Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a related field or be willing to work towards one
•Experience of working with vulnerable clients and / or those in addiction
•Knowledge of the causes and treatment of addiction – a working knowledge of the 12 steps would be advantageous.
•Knowledge of the benefit system and an understanding of supported housing funding streams.
