Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a Team Leader - Supply Chain has become available within the Special Buys team of National Supply Chain, based in Minchinbury.  This role is a 24-month contract position.

 

Working in a fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will have a diverse, deadline driven role, where they will be able to exercise their excellent people leadership, acute attention to detail, strong communication skills and experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead, develop and support a team of Technicians
  • Prepare, calculate and provide advice on freight costing options
  • Analyse data to assist with preparation of freight metrics
  • Manage the timely and accurate communication related to the status of freight movement
  • Ensure the efficient processing of information/data and support across all job functions
  • Ensure the efficient flow of correspondence and information, both incoming and outgoing, with external and internal parties
  • Ensure the accuracy of all job functions within the team
  • Work as an effective team member to support the National Supply Chain Executive Manager

 

Selection Criteria:

  • Experience in Supply Chain Operations and/or Freight Forwarding
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in people leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently coordinate the movement of controlled freight
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills
  • Demonstrated ability to remain resilient and focused during high pressure situations
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to take on responsibility, work autonomously and be a team player
  • Ability to manage and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to think outside of the norm
