Job Description

What you will do

This position is responsible for the technical maintenance and repair of Aircraft Ground Support Equipment and NZDF specialist vehicles at RNZAF Base Woodbourne.

The main responsibilities of this role are:

  • Managing workflow, resources and requirements for workshop tasks;
  • Organising and prioritising maintenance tasks on all ground support equipment;
  • Tracking and recording maintenance and servicing requirements within SAP;
  • Ensuring technicians adhere to correct standards and procedures; and
  • Providing technical supervision and oversight.

What we need

Along with significant experience as an Automotive Technician including the maintenance of heavy diesel vehicles, you'll have a good understanding of WOF and COF standards. Ideally you'll have workshop supervisory or leadership experience and are comfortable overseeing the work of others and making recommendations for improvements when required. A reasonable level of computer literacy and a full, clean drivers' license are also required.

As a highly effective communicator you'll be able to build sustainable working relationships and work successfully as part of the wider team.

The Materiel Support Wing provides logistics support to Base Commander Woodbourne which includes the maintenance and repair of ground support equipment, including vehicles.

  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
