Program Management Intern at AMD

The Role:

As part of the PMO, you will help establish and administrate project management tools with the purpose of tracking enterprise resource management, reporting project costs, driving project tasks, and budget planning.  Additionally, this role is an integral part of the PMO community, helping to execute and manage day-to-day operations and activities while assisting on larger enterprise projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the AMD Project Management Office and Engineering community to help continuous system and process improvement.
  • Support daily operations.
  • Contribute to creative brainstorms and planning.
  • Plan and manage learning and development opportunities for team of engineers.
  • Maintain project documentation in established repository.
  • Communicate horizontally and vertically across several functional organizations, including Management, Engineering, Finance, IT and Human Resources.
  • Support experienced program managers in leading cross functional meetings and tracking actions through completion.

 

Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Program/project Management or Operation Management experience or interest
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter who can work independently
  • Able to work in a very fast paced environment, with the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects

 

What you will learn:

You will learn about global program management and coordination in a technical environment, operations management including strategic planning, content development, and communication within a large, complex organization. You will learn to embrace creative brainstorming and pragmatic implementation. You will become proficient at engaging across geographies and time zones virtually, sharing corny jokes and crazy analogies with a bit of arm waving and a lot of laughing.

 

 

      • AMD is a government contractor and subcontractor.
