THE OPPORTUNITY

We currently have 1 fantastic opportunity for experienced Store Persons to join our Fleet Maintenance division of Sydney Trains. The Store person is accountable to the Store Manager for the effective receipt, storage and distribution of materials to support the maintenance, service, overhaul and repair activities of the Maintenance Centre. The services provided by the Store Person include receiving, unloading, recording, storing, distributing and stocktaking of a variety of equipment and supplies used in the maintenance, repair and operational process. This position is rostered shift work on a 24/7 basis.

ABOUT YOU

You will be able to demonstrate your experience in warehouse management, stores and distribution work in an engineering environment where you will also be able to easily adapt to changing priorities. Woking knowledge of procurement, inventory management and related financial policies, systems and standards as well as experience of using SAP is important for the success of this role. You will hold a current NSW driver’s licence and also a forklift licence (OR be willing to obtain the forklift licence within the first few months of starting in the position). As you will have experience in dealing with a large number of stakeholders both internal and external you will have excellent communication skills both verbal and written. You will be adaptable, confident in decision making and working on your own initiative as well as being a fantastic problem solver. Due to the shift patterns on a 24/7 roster, flexibility is essential.
