.About the Role
Stockkeeper
We are looking for a dynamic individual with exceptional customer service skills. Working in a fast-paced, and customer-centric environment, the Stockkeeper manages materials received, stored, and issued. They will maintain a high level of accuracy in the day-to-day warehouse transactions. They will provide counter services to other departments for materials required. The incumbent is responsible for the cyclical inventories and manage the record keeping for the department.
.Duties include:
Review and fill stock requests, issue memos and pick lists
Return unused and used material to stock
Verify materials and quantities against purchase orders as received from suppliers
Organize and arrange items and materials in appropriate warehouse locations
Record updating and handling of PCB’s, WHMIS products, M.T. REELS, scrap materials and rubber gloves
Handle loading and unloading operations the warehouse
Handle sensitive items and materials in an appropriate manner
Check and identify numbers and labels on assigned items
Inspect items and materials while loading and unloading, and report deficiencies to supervisor
Operate counter balance/reach forklift trucks, overhead crane and other tools as required
Assist with weekly cycle counts and maintain computerized inventory system
Maintain clean and organized warehouse and yard
Proactively stock mailroom supplies
Support in mentoring and training other warehouse employees
Provide operational support services to other areas of the organization
Assist Facilities Supervisor as needed
Work in compliance with all health and safety and environmental legislation including, but not limited to, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and Oakville Hydro’s Policies and Procedures
Be accountable for health and safety and actively promote health and safety within the work team and third-party individuals providing services to OH
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
Grade 12 high school or equivalent
Valid Class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s Licence and an excellent driving record
Certificate for counter balance, forklift, and reach trucks
Standard First Aid including CPR
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a warehouse
Experience in building services and facilities
Extensive forklift experience
Intermediate Computer skills in MS office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
Demonstrated ability to use computerized inventory systems
Knowledge of WHMIS and PCB handling practices
Solid understanding of basic warehouse practices
Ability to perform physical labour associated with warehouse work (lift up to 35 kgs)
Strong planning, and problem-solving skills with a clear focus on the delivery of excellent customer service
Display a keen attention to detail and can prioritize accordingly in a demanding and fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Embrace a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
Able to prioritize, problem solve and exercise good judgment
Is a fast learner who can adapt to an ever-changing environment
