Job Description

The Azure Customer + Partner Engineering team (Azure CPE) is responsible for customer and partner engineering engagements across Microsoft Cloud investments including Azure Edge + Platform and Azure Arc enabled infrastructure and services.  Products and technologies included span Windows Server, Azure Stack Family, Azure Arc, Edge Zones, Azure Percept, Windows IoT, AI/ML, and Azure IoT.  In addition to early customer engagements, the team is responsible for working with the Hardware ecosystem to deliver high quality devices, systems, and solutions that provide the greatest value for our customers.  These solutions enable our customers to adopt hybrid scenarios that leverage the power of Azure to enhance their edge and on-premises experiences and capabilities.  Quality and reliability of these solutions supporting our hybrid platforms is required.

As a Senior Software Engineer in Azure Customer & Partner Engineering team, you will contribute to many existing or new libraries and tools in several languages and runtime. Embracing industry-leading standards and practices to advance our Edge AI investments in the ARM hardware ecosystem.  You will work closely with our ARM hardware ecosystem on co-engineering projects, technology enablement, and lighting up state of the art solutions on the device platform. You will be the center point for engineering readiness and device/solution implementation and quality for the assigned projects.  You will navigate across a wide spectrum of Microsoft groups and levels, from Sales and Support, to Program Managers, Development teams, and Microsoft Executives.

Qualifications

Qualifications 

Required Qualifications:  

  • 5+ years experience in C, C++, Rust, or similar low-level programming language.
  • 5+ years experience working in hardware ecosystems: OEM, ODM, IHV, Silicon.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with OS debugging and board bring up on different SoCs.
  • Minimum of 5 years of programming in embedded Linux systems.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Commitment to collaboration and teamwork and ability to deliver via influence.
  • Solid understanding of aspects of software development process.

 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • A proven ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects and customers..
  • Knowledge of the market and industry, competitors, and customer needs. 
  • Experience contributing to open-source software projects.
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent related years of industry experience.

 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
