You are a leader of leaders for the Prime Video (PV) iOS team, with overall responsibility for the Prime Video iOS application. You surprise Prime Video iOS customers with an available, effortless, clear, fast, dynamic and delightful experience. You will be the face of the Prime Video organization to iOS partners, both internal and external. Finally, you will work with other iOS organizations within Amazon to ensure that we have a robust, well rounded and operationally sustainable iOS infrastructure.

Key job responsibilities

The Prime Video Mobile organization is seeking a senior engineering leader that will help in building an iOS product that will delight customers worldwide. you will lead a team of Software Engineers and Program Managers that will build the face of Prime Video to millions of customers on their most frequently accessed digital screen. Working with other engineering teams and your stakeholders you will own the roadmap, vision and strategy to enable customers to have responsive, delightful and intuitive experiences, whenever the interact with Prime Video. You will provide your organization with coaching in design, development, testing, and operations as you design, build and launch new features and experiences.


A day in the life
As a senior leader of mobile applications in Prime Video, you will be responsible for building broader mobile strategy and roadmap. As the single threaded leader for iOS, you are responsible for the engineering processes of that organization, and for ensuring that operational burdens don't get to onerous. Additionally, you will work to ensure that our customer facing feature set is delivered fast and at a high level of quality. As a leader of leaders, you are responsible for growing leaders internally, hiring the best people for your positions, and through your managers, provide support to your whole organization.

About the team
The Prime Video iOS team owns the Prime Video application for iPhone and iPad. We regularly deliver a continually evolving and delightful experience to our continually expanding user base. The team is fully based in London, and comprises a mix of newer and more experienced members. We own a mature product that serves millions of customers, and for many is the primary way that interact with Prime Video.

As much as working hard, you will also have fun as part of the iOS team, welcomed by regular team outings and activities (during non-COVIDian times!) like board games, video game tournaments and ongoing training opportunities. With the current digital-only working circumstances, we're still keen to ensure we remain interactive and regularly organize virtual events, to help maintain the team atmosphere we're so proud of fostering.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Relevant engineering experience
· Experience managing engineers
· Experience in partnering with product and program management teams
· Experience managing software engineering teams and developing technical direct reports (performance review communication, accountability, motivation/engagement)
· Experience being a manager of managers, growing managers to scale with the needs of the organisation and working through others to accomplish the day-to-day work of the organisation
· Experience of system design, architecture, and problem solving skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· A Master's Degree in Computer Science, or relevant experience
· A deep understanding of software development lifecycle, and a track record of shipping production quality software on time
· Experience building customer facing payment or transactional systems
