Software Application Quality Assurance Team Manager

AMD is searching for hardworking and highly motivated individuals to join our team of developers preparing applications for supercomputing platforms across industry, academia, and national laboratories.

The role:

The AMD Data Center application team seeks a strong, collaborative leader with sharp technical skills to lead a motivated team in a hands-on manner. The candidate needs to have a demonstrated track record of developing quality assurance programs. The ability to interact with partner companies and organizations is crucial. You will work closely with partners, diverse teams within AMD, external code owners, Independent Software Vendors, and customers to lead a Quality Assurance team in delivering high quality and performant High Performance Computing (HPC) and Machine Learning (ML) applications for use on AMD CPU and GPU products.

You continuously coordinate across organizations, bringing together developers, customers, and product engineers to deliver programs on-time. You are passionate about performance and quality of software products. You are an experienced manager with a track record of recruiting and retaining a robust team. You delight in winning business by providing recognizable value to our customers.

Key responsibilities:

• Build, lead and manage a team of hardworking software quality assurance engineers to deliver HPC and ML applications targeted for AMD hardware
• Interact with partners to establish program requirements and schedules, and communicate status
• Create software certification programs for AMD developed HPC and ML software applications
• Work with other AMD teams to continuously improve AMD development software products
• Establish quality assurance procedures, maintain quality assurance records, find opportunities to enhance efficiency and implement continuous improvements

Preferred experience:

• Proven ability to create, manage, and improve software quality assurance programs for HPC and ML software applications
• Direct experience defining and implementing automated software QA and continuous integration systems
• Strong people management skills, with a proven ability to hire and develop talented personnel
• Experience working closely with development and business teams to understand requirements and communicate impact of issues
• Demonstrated expertise in working with software continuous integration systems
• Experience with release management processes supporting multiple software applications and a high volume of requests
• Strong organizational skills, ability to track multiple software applications simultaneously and to be able to synthesize results
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently in a flexible work environment with changing priorities
• Technical expertise in one or more of the following categories
• Hardware platform and software application qualification/certification
• Software development and release life cycle
• GPU architecture and performance analysis
• HPC scientific domains
• Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence software techniques
• Experience with large computer procurement processes and export control compliance
• Experience collaborating across a geographically distributed team (AMD has sites across North America, in Europe, and Asia)
