The Role

The Duty Officer is an integral part of our team and plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the Queenstown Events Centre is well presented, runs smoothly and that our customers are well looked after.

This varied role will work alongside the Duty Supervisor and is responsible for ensuring meeting rooms, playing fields, courts and all related equipment are available on time for customer bookings.

You will also carry out minor maintenance and cleaning tasks where required and support the Customer Services Team during peak times.

We are seeking a self-motivated individual to work within our positive and energetic team environment. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate outstanding customer service skills, be committed to maintaining a professional looking venue and have excellent communication skills.

If you have a background in customer service, hospitality, retail, grounds or caretaking experience and enjoy applying yourself practically this role may be for you.

Due to this facility requiring a My Vaccine Pass, this role requires the successful applicant to be fully vaccinated.

About You

• Passionate about Sports, Health and Wellness
• Outstanding customer service skills
• NCEA Level 3 in Sports and Recreation, or a Trade is desirable but not essential
• A current first aid certificate is desirable (we can assist to you gain this)
• Fire warden and staff safety training desirable (we can assist to you gain this)
• A current and valid driver licence
• Experience in general repair and maintenance is preferable but not essential
• Highly motivated, achievement orientated and innovative professional
• Excellent interpersonal skills
