About the role and who we are looking for:
Our Chefs are at the very heart of what we do. Hundreds of thousands of people around New Zealand rely on us every day to provide their breakfasts, lunches and dinners. We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Permanent Full Time Sous Chef to work at our university site Massey University in Albany, Auckland.
You will be responsible for:
In this position you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef with the daily operation of the Kitchen and preparing, cooking and presenting food ensuring the quality of every dish we serve! We provide services like short order, buffet service and functions catering for the site.
Skills and experience you will bring with you:
If you're our perfect candidate you will be hard working and be flexible to work in all sections of the kitchen. You will already have at least 4 years' proven work experience in a kitchen environment. You will have a confident and creative cooking style with a strong emphasis on quality and presentation and be a great communicator.
You will need to be able to cook within budget, bulk cooking, assist with ordering, menu planning, maintain Safe Food practices, as well as ensure the Health & Wellbeing of our customers through allergen and nutrition management.
You will be able to juggle multiple demands within a challenging environment but, most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
