Are you an experienced Sound Editor? Are you passionate about Drama? Ready for the opportunity to progress your career? Then this is the role for you!
It's an exciting time to be part of our team with all of our award-winning Continuing Dramas that brings audiences together week after week. From EastEnders, Doctors, Holby City and Casualty to River City and Pobol y Cwm, our programmes remain a constant source of gripping entertainment, featuring cliff-hanger storylines and much-loved characters with whom our viewers have grown up.
Casualty is a multi-award-winning drama series about the staff and patients at the Holby City Emergency Department, charting the ups and downs in their personal and professional lives whilst tackling many controversial and taboo issues. Through great writing and visual flair the show balances gritty realism with high drama to keep its millions of dedicated viewers coming back for more, on-screen and on-line, week in week out.
The Post-Production team are a passionate and friendly team, dedicated to making Casualty look and sound the very best that they can. They strive to offer opportunities to learn, develop and progress throughout the team. They are always keen to innovate, with the sound team being involved in R&D projects that lead the way for hearing-impairment inclusivity.
You will report to the Post Production Supervisor and work alongside the Post Production Coordinator as they schedule your time for ADR.
The successful candidate will be responsible for both ADR and Foley. They will record, direct and fit ADR as required, dealing directly with our on screen talent. They will also perform, record and edit Foley, creatively sourcing and making use of props or costume, whilst ensuring that they deliver to the deadlines.
You will be required to advise on microphone techniques and give direction to the talent when recording ADR and respond to any sound requests from the Dubbing Mixer as and when required, whilst supporting the supervision of any on the job training or other Post Production personnel.
You will be able to advise on the best methods and equipment to use to achieve the desired outcome, whilst ensuring that the final result satisfies the highest artistic and technical standards required by the production with or without direction and the absolute synchronisation of all sound sources with picture.
You will be required to keep abreast of, and make creative use of the constantly developing methods of producing television sound and attend training as may be determined in order to be conversant with existing and new technology and procedures.
