“It’s an exciting time. We’ve got a great start-up culture in a larger organisation, with the corporate stability and backing. And that real emphasis on being able to affect change is very important for me.†Steve Bowerman, Principal Software Engineer at EDF.
We’re a multi-disciplined team with generalists and specialists; be it front-end, back-end, full stack developer or DevOps. We offer opportunities for engineers who want to help shape, develop and grow our software engineering practice, whilst developing their own skills, knowledge and career.
We’re evolving our IT landscape from traditional on-premise monoliths, to a collection of scalable, independent micro services, which enable us to react to the fast paced nature of the energy industry and uncertainty.
Our Software Engineering practice is at the heart of this transformation and we encourage our engineering community to really understand our challenges, what our customers need from us, and to create practical applications that solve business needs.
In addition to a competitive salary, we offer flexible benefits that support our employees’ physical, emotional and financial wellbeing. Examples include: a market-leading company pension scheme, a bonus plan, health cover, electric vehicle leasing, mental health support and employee discounts.
We adapted our ways of working during the pandemic and we’re committed to offering an element of flexible and blended working for our people in the future. Our Software Engineering team can work flexibly from home or the office, balancing the working day with personal commitments, whether that’s personal wellbeing, childcare or interests.
At EDF, everyone’s welcome. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone has a voice and where you feel confident being yourself.
