Responsibilities

We’re looking for experienced algo engineer with strong product focus and ML engineering expertise.

As an algo engineer of News & Feeds team, you will work with Researcher and PM to design, develop, and deliver quality features, with a focus on innovative algorithms and techniques for user engagement.. You will have a direct impact on the quality of Microsoft feed recommendation results, which affected the experiences of hundreds of millions of users across different countries every day.
• Participate and lead opportunity analysis, project proposals, design, implementation and execution across a variety of ML projects to ship product improvements regarding personalization, quality and user engagement
• Drive ML modeling innovations in NLP application, ranking and recommendation domains.
• Innovations in ML system architecture/functionalities for high scalability and efficiency.

Qualifications

B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or related major; PhD is a plus.
• 1+ years of strong expertise in data mining/analysis, machine learning, NLP, recommendation or similar areas;
• Good coding skills with solid data structure and algorithm knowledge, familiar with programming in C++, C#, Java, Python or equivalent
• Strong communications skills (both verbal and written);
• Great intuition and ability to “make sense of the numbers.”
• Knowledge and experience in any of the following areas is strong plus: C/C++ coding, Information Retrieval, Recommendation Algo & System, Data Mining, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, experience writing code in production systems at large scale.
