Job summary
Would you like to shape the future of the video entertainment industry for movies, TV and live sports events? Does solving complex problems within large scale systems excite you? If you answered yes, we have an opportunity for you!
Prime Video is changing the way millions of customers interact with video content. The Prime Video team delivers high-quality instant video to Amazon customers through subscriptions, as well as purchases and rentals. Amazon believes so deeply in the mission of Prime Video that we've launched our own studio to create original and exclusive content. Every day we face the challenges of a fast-paced market and expanding technology set. Amazon Prime Video delivers movies and TV shows instantly to PCs, portable devices, consoles, and TVs worldwide. This is a young and evolving business where creativity and drive can have a lasting impact on the way video is enjoyed worldwide.
To help a growing organization scale features to Prime Video customers, the Resilience Engineering team is innovating on behalf of our global software development teams consisting of thousands of engineers. You'll have the freedom (and encouragement) to experiment, improve, invent, and innovate on behalf of our customers. Our team plays a strategic role to shape and deliver a technical strategy for improving the Prime Video customer experience and creating visibility into the end-to-end delivery of content. You will contribute to a high-visibility and high-impact program collaborating with various teams across Prime Video focusing on scale validation, dependency management, risk mitigation and program health.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and building services and engineering platform features for stress test automation, traffic prediction and operational excellence.
You will own end to end technical components and framework focused on technology and services needed to build scale, efficiency, and an Amazon-caliber customer experience.
You are empowered to bring new technologies including machine learning to your solutions. If you crave a sense of ownership, this is the place to be.
Our team makes a big impact because nothing is more important to us than pleasing our customers, continually earning their trust, and thinking long term. Together we will build systems which meet high standards of performance and reliability and operate at massive scale.
A day in the life
You will make Prime Video more reliable for customers by building tools based on multiple AWS technologies (S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, and Athena to name a few) to support high value events such as English Premier League, Thursday Night Football and the US Open, measure success and failure metrics, and investigate customer journeys through our products and services. As an engineer on the team, you will be involved in every aspect of the process - from idea generation and technical design through to development and deployment across a variety of technologies - giving you a real sense of ownership.
