About the role
We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and friendly Social Worker with to join the team at Southland Hospital!
As a Social Worker, you will bring experience and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for assessing client needs and assisting in their journey through the hospital. You will need a sound knowledge/understanding of vulnerable adults, complex discharge planning and be able to respond to challenging situations appropriately.
Ideally, you will bring to us experience in working in an inpatient hospital setting. It is essential that you bring an understanding of the social determinants of health and the impact this has on client's health and social needs.
About you
You will have sound social work knowledge and skills and be a team player with excellent communication skills.
In order to be successful in this position, you will also need to demonstrate the following:
To be eligible for this role it is essential that you hold a Social Work qualification recognised by NZSWRB. You must also be a member or eligible for membership with ANZASW. A current driver licence is required.
