This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a wide scope of practice and making excellent connections across the health and social service sector. The role provides Social Work assessment, intervention and case management for patients and whÄnau experiencing physical health challenges. You will be a team player who can link seamlessly with your colleagues across similar roles within the rohe and neighbouring regions. As part of a team of 12 physical health Social Workers, you will bring your professional skills, values and experience to individuals, whÄnau and the wider community.
This role will primarily be focussed on inpatient adults wards but is expected to be a supportive member of a team covering adult's health, women's health, family harm, children's health in both community and inpatient spaces. The successful applicant will understand, articulate and practically express their commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, WhÄnau ora, and WDHB values in their everyday practice. Participation in on-call weekend roster for the Interdisciplinary Assessment Team (based in Emergency Department) will be required.
You will be someone with an interest in starting or extending your practice in the area of health Social Work. You will be passionate about being part of a team advocating to improve equity of outcomes for our patients and their whÄnau. You will align to WDHB values and vision and hold full registration with the SWRB. You must be motivated, reflective, and passionate about maintaining high levels of knowledge and skill. It would be advantageous to understand other health professional roles, and to have established links with local and regional community organisations.
This position is ideal for new graduate Social Worker looking to develop a good foundation in Social Work practice. This position would also provide an opportunity for a more experienced Social Worker to broaden their skill set, grow their leadership capability and explore a wider scope of practice.
