Job Title: Social Worker

Location: Timaru

Hours: Full time, permanent, Monday to Friday

Salary: $60 to $64k per annum (depending on experience)

About this Social Worker opportunity

We are recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker who will join the team, providing high-quality, professional, culturally sensitive social work service to children; adolescents; whanau; delivery of psycho-educational individual/group work with children/whanau.

This role will provide high-quality, professional, culturally sensitive social work service to tamariki; rangatahi, and whanau, across a broad range of social issues. This is a community-based position that will involve both office-based and home visiting.

Skills & experience required for this Social Worker vacancy

• Are familiar with strength-based practice principles
• Are competent in counseling or social work theories.
• Are competent in working with families affected by multiple issues including domestic violence and child abuse
• Are able to engage with families where signs of safety are an issue
• Experienced in working individually with children, with families, and in group settings
• Enjoy group facilitation
• Thrive in a busy multi-disciplinary team
• Show exemplary professional practice
• Have outstanding communication and people skills
• Have excellent family support, assessment, and counseling abilities.
• A qualification is mandatory and must be registered with a relevant professional body
