The opportunity
The Social Media Team Leader supports Sydney Trains customers through the timely provision of customer service messages to social media channels from the Rail Operations Centre (ROC) to meet operational objectives.
The main responsibilities for this role are, but not limited to:
Supervise the Social Media team, including providing leadership and support through the implementation and monitoring of strategies, the reallocation of work during disruptions, and providing assistance to Team members
Liaising with the Sydney Trains Media team regarding sensitive or high priority issues to ensure the organisation’s reputational requirements are met through customer engagement via Social Media
Influence and inspire their team to deliver the best customer outcomes and manage performance when expectations are not being met.

About you
You’re a team player, who is able to manage competing deadlines in a pressurised environment while also being able to confidently influence stakeholders to manage priorities.
Essential Requirements:
Demonstrated staff supervision, leadership and coaching capabilities to achieve both strategic and operational outcomes from a responsive team as part of an effective Leadership group
Demonstrated experience in the provision of social media content, including Twitter, ideally in an operational environment.
Knowledge and understanding of Train operations (or ability to develop this in a suitable period of time).
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of social media tools and platforms, including analysis tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to produce communications for a wide range of audiences and reports
Problem solving skills and experience in applying these to improve customer outcomes
Good planning skills with the ability to prioritise customer issues
It is a requirement of the role to work shift work and to work extended hours at short notice.
Salary and benefits
The salary for this position is RC6 ($127,559-$141,442) plus superannuation and leave loading.
