Are you passionate about the car industry? Experienced at working with consumer facing brands? We are looking for a talented Digital Reviews Editor to join the UK Publishing team for Top Gear - one of BBC Studios’ best known brands.
As the Digital Reviews Editor, you will be responsible for managing the TopGear.com review database and increasing traffic to the entire TopGear.com review ecosystem.
Work with the editorial and SEO teams to optimise the TopGear.com reviews database
Work with the UX and development teams to optimise and improve the TopGear.com reviews database
Work with the editor to generate ideas for additional content streams focused around car reviews
Write online content and be across the news and feature schedule
Accountabilities:
Working with the editor and head of road testing, manage the car reviews calendar to forward-plan upcoming reviews
Working with the editor and head of road testing, be the first point of contact for car bookings
Working with the editorial and SEO teams, continue to update TopGear.com’s existing reviews database
Working with the editorial and SEO teams, forward-plan the month’s ‘retro’ reviews across all formats
Working with the editorial and SEO teams, forward-plan the month’s commercial vehicle reviews across all formats
Work with the development team to rectify issues in the TopGear.com reviews database
Write car reviews, news and digital features on a regular basis
Represent TopGear.com at key internal stakeholder and external meetings where necessary
You will need a proven track record of managing large, complex databases for consumer-facing media and experience of working within the motoring industry. Review experience is essential, road testing experience would also be desirable.
Experience of commissioning external contributors and talent and proven experience of photo editing software and content management systems is essential.
Our ideal candidate will have a background in digital media, a proven ability to write for a consumer-facing online publication and be able to evidence regular contact with Press Offices to push reviews and drive traffic to the topgear.com reviews site.
Ideally you will have an understanding and knowledge of the Top Gear brand.
