As a Social Media Editorial Lead, you will take day-to-day responsibility for our social newsroom, across the Sky UK and Sky TV social channels. This role, a new position in the team, will take editorial and operational oversight for the day-to-day entertainment, cinema and product (TV, broadband and mobile) social activity as well as the inclusion of brand messaging (ie Sky Zero) on our social platforms.
What you’ll do:
– Leading the editorial ideation and sign-off process for social newsroom activity which can include timely or trending social content, community management around live broadcast of shows, films and product launches and always-on creative.
– Line manage the Social Media Editor and Social Media Ops Manager and ensure day-to-day delivery of the activity across all platforms, ensuring the calendars for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are complete, and working with the YouTube features team to align with on activity on that channel.
– Develop and iterate editorial guardrails for ongoing franchises, community management and key customer moments, to be delivered by your team or agencies where required.
– Be a key stakeholder for Sky Media, who monetise content output on our channels, by developing and sharing channel calendars and plans with them.
– Manage budgets for agency support on activations for always-on content.
– Drive a culture of performance-led creativity in the team, using data to inform decision-making and resource allocation and focusing on channel growth, audience engagement and revenue via Sky Media.
– Occasional liaison with SCA (Sky Creative agency) on brand look and feel.
What you’ll bring:
– Creative / editorial social media leadership including experience concepting for a variety of platforms and format types.
– Line management experience up to mid-senior level
– Digital social media experience. Experience within a news/media or Entertainment field is desired
– Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively to senior stakeholders
– The ability to work flexibly, taking back TOIL as needed.
– Ability to form strong relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders
