Role Responsibility
The Social Media Coordinator will:
- Support the Social Media Managers and Social Media Executives where required to help develop iPlayer and/or Masterbrand’s strategic and creative approach to social media
- Manage social campaign plans, acting as the day-to-day lead for those campaigns across all social platforms, working closely with the Social Media Managers and Social Media Executives, and the social Publishing, Production and Planning teams to align strategy
- Work closely with Commissioning, Production, and relevant campaign stakeholders on each social campaign.
- Produce and brief digital assets (images, gifs, video) that can be used across social media platforms, using relevant multimedia software (such as Adobe CS).
- Produce engaging copy and community management that is optimised for social platforms and formats, in line with the campaign and each account’s tone of voice.
- Shape campaign plans to maximise our UK under-35 engaged reach at a campaign level
- Work closely with Publishing to ensure each social campaign supports both the overarching strategic priorities and meets audience expectations across all platforms and formats
- Ensure all content is complied as required by Social Media Manager, editorial lead and other key stakeholders
- Work with Moderation Services, Editorial Policy and other support teams to shape campaign creative and develop appropriate responses where needed
- Work closely with Marketing, Media Planning and Creative to align organic social, paid social and marketing campaigns
- As required, work occasional out-of-hours shifts (evenings, weekends, bank holidays) to ensure that our social media activity is consistent with audience behaviour and usage.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
- Impeccable copywriting skills.
- Some experience using video editing software such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere.
- An organised and efficient approach.
- Passion for television, and a good understanding of the BBC’s output on air and on social media.
- Sound understanding of social media industry and platform trends.
- Attention to detail with good editorial judgement, accuracy and sensitivity.
- An ability to meet targets and deadlines whilst managing a wide range of concurrent activities.
- A highly analytical approach with an ability able to critically evaluate ideas and information.
- Effective written and verbal communication, with good presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate across organisational boundaries.
- Good understanding of the entertainment/broadcasting industry.
- Experience of assisting and managing social media accounts and campaigns.
- A record of creative achievement.
